Energy Generation

In 2017, Beauparc acquired electricity producer, Bioverda Power Systems. Bioverda – formerly Irish Power Systems - extracts methane gas from landfill sites and generates electricity for resale to electricity providers. The conversion of landfill-sourced methane into electricity provides a greener and more sustainable source of electricity than traditional sources.

Bioverda operates and maintains twenty landfill gas generators on nine landfill sites throughout the country. In 2017, generated 80 GWh from landfill gas – enough to power 20,000 households.
