Beauparc Utility Group, has acquired Connaught based waste management firm WERS Waste.

WERS Waste was established in 1989 by the Gleeson family. WERS offers a wide range of services including domestic and commercial waste collection, recycling, compost and environmental services to over 30,000 customers throughout Connaught.

The acquisition will bring Beauparc’s nationwide customer base to in excess of 325,000 homes and businesses.

Commenting on the acquisition, Brian McCabe, Managing Director of Beauparc said; “The acquisition of WERS Waste further expands our nationwide footprint and consolidates our position as key player in sustainable utility solutions”

“We are looking forward to servicing our new communities. WERS customers can expect to receive the highest level of customer service, and a guarantee that 100% of the material collected will be recycled or recovered for energy”

He continued; “We would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the Gleeson family in building the WERS business. Alongside the existing WERS team, Beauparc will bring new investment and our significant experience in the sector to ensure the future growth and success of the business.”

WERS Directors Pat, Martin and Paul Gleeson will now concentrate on growing their plastics recycling business at their Weir Road facility in Tuam. Plastics recovered from WERS customers will continue to be handled at this facility.

Paul Gleeson said; “Pat, Martin and I felt that the time was right for us to concentrate our strategic focus on the plastics recycling element of our business, where we have made significant investments in recent years.”

He added; “We would like to pay tribute to our loyal staff and to our customers for their support and business over the years, which helped us grow WERS to where it is today. We are confident that both will benefit from this acquisition by Ireland’s biggest refuse and recycling management company.”
