Panda Power Launches Gas
Panda is now the only utilities provider in Ireland to offer waste, electricity and gas services to consumers
Panda Power, Ireland’s low-cost green electricity provider, has entered the consumer gas supply market. The new offering makes Panda Power the only utilities company in Ireland to offer all three main household utilities – waste, electricity and gas – under the one provider.
The company has received regulatory clearance to provide gas to consumers and approval to commence operations. Upon entering the gas market, Panda Power is offering the cheapest dual fuel deal, with Panda Power electricity customers able to avail of a 22% discount on the new standard rate. Panda Power’s gas offering is available nationwide to all consumers alongside its electricity supply, regardless of whether they are waste customers. Existing Panda Power, Panda and Greenstar customers will be entitled to the 22% dual fuel deal and an additional discount of 22% off their waste accounts.
Speaking about the company’s entry into the gas market, Brendan Traynor, Managing Director, Panda Power said:
“We’re delighted to be able to bring a new, integrated offer to the market and give consumers even more choice. Consumers expect to be able to bundle their household utilities these days to help save them time and money. We’ve seen a unique opportunity to do that and in so doing bring more choice to the market. We expect our 285,000 existing Panda, Greenstar and Panda Power customers to be early adopters and take advantage of the savings on offer.”
The new offering has required significant investment and infrastructure planning from Panda Power including the expansion of its Dublin based contact centre to support the new service offering.
Panda Power entered the electricity market in 2015, offering green electricity generated from renewable resources such as biogas, solar, wind and wave energy to customers.
